What is Fantasy Football?
Fantasy Football (soccer) is an online format for playing football with friends or strangers. Fantasy Football allows you to pick and create a team of your liking, consider yourself to be the manager of a football match happening between Team A and Team B, you have the opportunity and freedom to pick 11 players from both Team A and Team B. While you have the freedom to pick 11 players of your liking, there are rules that everyone has to adhere to while creating your Fantasy Team. This format of Fantasy Football explained here is Daily Fantasy Football, where multiple matches can take place on a single day and users will have the opportunity to create Fantasy Teams for each of these different matches separately.
Example — Usually on weekends multiple matches take place across different leagues across the globe, in the Daily Fantasy Football format, you can take part either in one football match or multiple matches and create Fantasy Teams for as many matches as you wish.
How does Fantasy Football work on Fanfury?
Fanfury is a Daily Fantasy Sports platform deployed on Furya Blockchain and it hosts multiple Football and Cricket matches from various leagues and international matches across the globe. As a new user, you will have to register on the Fanfury App/Web App to take part in these matches to play Fantasy Football or Fantasy Cricket. Apart from registering on the platform, you will also have to create and link the Leap Wallet in the Fanfury Wallet section if you wish to compete against others and win FURY.
Register to play Fantasy Football on Fanfury
Once you are registered on Fanfury, you will be in the lobby section of the Fanfury app, where you can see Daily Fantasy Sports, upon clicking this, you will enter the Fantasy Football, and Fantasy Cricket sections where all the upcoming matches for both Fantasy Football and Fantasy Cricket can be seen under their respective tabs. The Fantasy Football tab will show you the list of upcoming matches in which you can take part in any or all of the upcoming matches and create your Fantasy Team and compete to win FURY.
Pick a Match to play Fantasy Football
To start playing Fantasy Football on Fanfury, you first need to select the match you want to compete in, and as soon as you click on the match you decide to compete in, you will the list of content pools that are available for you to compete in, there are multiple contest pools and each contest pool has a different entry fee and a different winning amount. You have the choice to take part in a paid contest pool or you can enter practice contests ‘On The House’ to play for free.
Let’s say you are undecided on which contest pool you want to enter, even then you can go ahead and create the team for the upcoming match and later decide if you want to enter the created team in a single contest or multiple contests.
Rules to creating Fantasy Teams on Fanfury
- A maximum of 7 players can be selected from one team
- You can pick 1 goalkeeper
- You can pick between 3–5 defenders
- You can pick between 3–5 midfielders
- You can pick between 1–3 forwards
- You have to pick a team within the 100 salary budget limit
- Each player will have a different salary, so pick carefully and within the limit
- Choose one Captain and Vice Captain for the team, The Captain gets 2X points and VC gets 1.5X points
- Pick a bench of 4 players, every nonplaying player will be auto-substituted after kick-off time based on the priority of the bench players you have selected.
Points system on Fanfury
Fantasy points for Attack
- Goals scored by different players on the field get different points, since strikers always most of the goals, 40 points go to the striker who has scored a goal versus 50 points for a midfielder and 60 points for a defender.
- Assist is the final pass before a goal is scored, irrespective of whether it is a striker, midfielder, defender, or GK, assists get 20 points.
- Shot on target is a goal attempt which could be a goal if not saved by opposition players or GK, shots on target get 6 points.
- Chance created is also known as a key pass, it is regarded as the final touch (cross, pass, or other touch). This results in a shot, whether on, off, or blocked target. Chance created gets 3 points.
- A team won’t receive a shot on target if the shot hits the goalpost or if another player blocks the shot.
- If Player A passes the ball to Player B, who then scores, then Player B gets points for a goal scored and chance created, while Player A gets points for an Assist and chance created.
Fantasy Points for Defence
- Tackle won is when a player takes the ball away from another player who has the ball in possession. This can be either taking the ball away from the player or taking the ball into possession. Tackle won gets 4 points.
- Interception is when a player intercepts the ball on purpose, this can be done by moving in line of the ball or taking possession of the ball. Interception gets 4 points.
- When a GK saves the ball from going into goal, then it is considered a save. Saves by GK get 6 points.
- When a defender or a GK does not concede a goal for 55 mins then it is considered as a clean sheet. Clean sheets give the GK and defenders 20 points.
- When a defender is on the pitch for 55 mins or more and gets substituted before a goal is scored then that defender gets Clean sheet points.
- If GK saves a penalty by blocking the shot then that penalty save by GK gets 20 points.
- If the GK has not touched the ball, whereas the player misses the penalty kick, no points will be given to the GK. On the other hand, -20 points will be awarded to the penalty taker.
Other Points in Fantasy Football
- If a player receives a yellow card then -4 points is awarded, and if a player gets a straight red then -10 points are awarded.
- If the player gets two yellow cards or even a straight red card, negative points for only a red card will be taken into consideration.
- If any player gets a yellow or red card, total Fantasy Football points will come into effect if –
a) They already played the match and were substituted.
b) They come onto the field as a substitute.
4. Irrespective of the defender’s or GK’s total playing time, the conceded goals are calculated for players who are present on the field during the goal.

- Keep a close eye on Football matches, watch them, understand the importance of different players, and know how they impact the game.
- It is always suggested to do basic research before entering Fantasy Teams on any Fantasy applications.
- Player’s past performance will have a key role to play in his current match
- Defenders generally make or break the team, so choose them wisely as they either give more points or take most points away.
- Since this is Daily Fantasy Football, it is always suggested to form or edit teams one hour before the game starts, as team sheets will be announced one hour before the game. Remember a player in the starting 11 will have more points than those who might come as subs.
